Artist to Present Exhibition at Library

    Noted outdoor artist Terry Williams is presenting a exhibition of his works at the main gallery of the Taylor Library and Technology Center at the University of Arkansas at Monticello now through October 28.

   Gallery hours are Monday through Friday from 8 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. An artists’ reception will be help October 25 at 7 p.m. and the gallery will be open on Saturday, October 28 as part of UAM’s homecoming celebration.

   Williams, who lives in Judsonia, is a 1966 forestry graduate of UAM (then Arkansas A&M). An artist and sportsman, Williams’ paintings have been used by Ducks Unlimited, Delta Waterfowl, the Rocky Mountain Elk Foundation, and the National Wild Turkey Federation. He was chosen as the Arkansas Ducks Unlimited Artist of the Year in 2000 with a painting titled “Early Arrivals – Maddox Bay Mallards.”

   Born and raised on a small farm in Mississippi, Williams spent much of his childhood hunting, fishing and studying the details of wildlife and their habitats, drawing and sketching at an early age.

   Williams, who worked for the U.S. Forest Service before pursuing an art career, began his study of art at Harding University in Searcy. He is the owner of Terry’s Touch of Art in Searcy where he has been in business for over 30 years. He has done numerous paintings for collectors and publishes his own limited edition prints.
