1979 A Capella Choir

    Alumni of the University of Arkansas at Monticello’s A Capella Choir who participated in the ensemble during the tenure of choir director John Dougherty from 1966 to 1982 will hold a reunion during UAM’s homecoming celebration October 27-28.

   The reunion includes a reception on Friday, October 27 at 5 p.m. in the Spencer Gallery of the UAM Fine Arts Center and a sing-along with Dougherty conducting later that evening at 8:30 p.m. in the Harris Recital Hall of the UAM Music Building.

   Choir alumni will rehearse for morning and pre-game performances on Saturday, October 28 from 9-10 a.m. in the Harris Recital Hall before performing at 10 a.m. in the Fine Arts Center auditorium. The group will perform the alma mater during pre-game ceremonies at Convoy Leslie Cotton Boll Stadium at 2:30 p.m.
Dougherty served a choir director at Arkansas A&M and UAM from 1966 to 1982 and was also head of the Department of Music.
