The richest person in China...a woman?

That's right, according to MSN.com, China's richest person, 49-year-old Zhang Yin, made her estimated $3.4 billion fortune by founding the Nine Dragons Paper Co. Yin's company takes recycled paper from the United States and turns it into packaging products for China. Yin topped the annual list of China's richest people.

Yabba-dabba-doo

Ed Benedict, creator of the "Flintstones," died in his sleep Aug. 28, but was confirmed Oct. 10 by his friend, David K. Sheldman, according to MSN.com. The 94-year-old created characters such as Fred Flintstone, Barney Rubble, Huckleberry Hound and Yogi the Bear, throughout his life time. To read a tribute about the "modern stone age family" creator, go to www.cartoonbrew.com.

You go, girl!

Apparently, someone declared Oct. 11 as "You go, girl!" Day. I have never heard of this holiday, but if anyone would like to send a belated "You go, girl!" Day e-card visit http://www.msn.americangreetings.com/display.pd?bfrom=1&prodnum=3021187&path=23801&source=msne110&GT1=8659l.

'In the Pubic Interest.'

I think that should be public. In Ottawa County, Mich., ballots will be reprinted because of a typographical error. Instead of writing public, whoever typed up the ballots left the "L" out. This simple mistake will cost the county $40,000 to fix before the Nov. 7 election. Proofreading is a beautiful thing.
