   With volleyball and football setting at .500 in their conference records, neither team hoped for less than a 100 percent win percentage in this stage of the conference. Football, which lost a crucial heartbreaker to the Harding Bisons, played a great game all the way to the end last weekend. The volleyball team lost two at the hands of Harding and a five game match against Henderson State. In cross country, the team placed sixth in the UALR meet recently, with Courtney Greene setting the mark with the tenth overall spot. Basketball official season practices are almost here also.

   With individuals and workouts in full swing, I have talked to many different players and they are very excited and can not wait for the official practices to start. The most thrilling part of it all is that you have two excellent basketball teams with tournament experience from last year almost underway. Then you take a first time volleyball program last year that almost makes it to the tournament and this year is highly respected to compete for the conference tournament champion title.

   Last you throw in an exciting football team who is subject to turn on the boosters at anytime in a game to make it interesting, you then have the make up of a good semester for fall and winter sports.
