The Bradley County Medical Center donated $25,000 to the University of Arkansas at Monticello Foundation Fund to create an endowed scholarship in nursing. The scholarship will honor the late Harry H. Stevens, long-time administrator of the Bradley County Medical Center. Income from the endowment will fund scholarships for full-time students from Bradley County who have been accepted into the BSN, AASN or LPN nursing programs at any of the UAM campuses in Monticello, Crossett or McGehee. The scholarship will pay the cost of tuition, fees and books. “This is a most generous gift, and I am pleased to accept it on behalf of the UAM Foundation Fund,” Chancellor Jack Lassiter said. “This scholarship will help us fill a critical need in attracting students to our nursing program. With a shortage of nurses nationwide, it’s vitally important that we are able to attract top students to our nursing program and scholarships like this are vitally important.” For more information, contact the Office of
