The second annual National Juried Cup Show
is currently on exhibit through May 11 in
the Fred J. Taylor Library and Technology Center
Gallery. Gallery hours are 8 a.m. to 4:30
p.m. Monday through Friday.
According to Scott Lykens, assistant
professor of art, the annual exhibition of
ceramic vessels is designed to showcase
ceramic artists from across the nation with
their interpretation of the concept of
“cup.”
This year’s juror, Matt Long, an assistant
professor of art at the University of
Mississippi, accepted 44 cups out of 212
entries. He has been a practicing
ceramic artist for 22 years and works
primarily with salt-fired bottles.
“This exhibition is a unique opportunity for
our students and community to see what is
happening in the field of ceramics
nationally,” said Lykens. Have a comment? Please e-mail us. ŠThe Voice 2007 Revised 01/13/2008 03:14:57 PM — http://www.uamont.edu/Organizations/TheVoice/4_24/juror.htm |
