Registration for Dino Dash and Discovery Fest Underway

   Registration is underway for the Museum of Discovery’s eighth annual Dino Dash and Discovery Fest, Saturday, June 2 in the River Market District.

   Dino Dash is a 5K walk/run and 1K Fun Run.  Registration can be individual or as a team.  Team registration is open to teams of five or more participants.  The largest team will receive a pizza party at the Museum of Discovery. After Dino Dash, race participants and other visitors can have fun at Discovery Fest.  Discovery Fest will be held from 8 – 11:30 a.m. and features food, games, face painting, dinosaur crafts and more.

  • Registration Fees:  $20/individual registration (postmarked before May 5), $25/ individual registration (postmarked after May 5), $15/per person for team registration (team deadline is May 5).
     
  • 5K begins at 8 a.m.; 1K begins at 9 a.m.
     
  • Medals will be awarded to top finishers in various 5K age groups and all 1K participants receive a medal and dino prize.
     
  • All race registrants receive a 2007 Dino Dash t-shirt, runner’s bag and free admission to the Museum on race day.

   Founded in 1927, The Museum of Discovery is Little Rock’s oldest museum. It remains a fixture of the River Market District in Downtown Little Rock, and welcomes visitors into a “world of discovery for all ages.”  Throughout 2007, the Museum is proud to celebrate “80 Years of Discovery.”  The year-long celebration will include special events and exhibits designed to showcase science, history and technology.

   The Museum’s mission is to engage, enlighten and educate people of all ages through an interactive experience where science and history come alive. The Museum of Discovery is a Smithsonian Affiliate and a member of the American Association of Museums, the Association of Science and Technology Centers and the Association of Children’s Museums.

   Admission is $8 for adults, $7 for children 1-12, $7 for seniors over 65 and free for children under one. Hours are 9 a.m.-5 p.m. Monday-Saturday and 1-5 p.m. Sunday.  The Museum of Discovery is located at 500 President Clinton Ave., Suite 150, Little Rock. 

   Over 750 people are expected to participate in Dino Dash.  Proceeds benefit the educational and outreach programs at the Museum of Discovery.
