Luke Mitchell - holds up his grand prize winning i-Pod, after his landslide run through the tournament.

   Congratulations

Luke Mitchell, of Monticello, smoked the competition and was crowned champion of the Guitar Hero II contest, presented by the Residence Hall Association.

   Miracle Baby

Doctors in Denver, Colo., removed a two-pound tumor from the neck of newborn Addison Whittington. The tumor, called a cervical teratoma, is rare and only found in one out of 50,000 births. The tumor made up for 40 percent of Whittington’s weight. Whittington is expected to make a full recovery.

   The Oldest in the World

Nola Ochs, 95, will become the world’s oldest college graduate May 12. Ochs will receive a general studies degree, with an emphasis in history from Fort Hays State University. Also, Ochs will be graduating with her granddaughter Alexander Ochs.

   i C U

i-Pod’s are being banned in high schools throughout the nation, after it was discovered that students were using i-Pod compatible voice recorders to record test answers in advance. Others downloaded notes and hid them in the lyrics text file.

   Video of the Week…sort of

This past week the media has been up in arms after a voicemail, left by Alec Baldwin on his 11-year-old daughter’s cell phone, was leaked to the press.

Granted, it was wrong for him to speak to his daughter in that fashion, but if we all had recordings of our parents yelling at us in moments of frustration, I guarantee you it would be a lot worse. At least mine would.
