The University of Arkansas at Monticello’s College of Technology at Crossett collected 155 units of blood during its April 11 Life Share Blood Drive. Mitch Powell, Student Services coordinator, praised director Shela Upshaw and UAM-CTC nursing students for leading the drive in a campus-wide e-mail. Upshaw confirmed the actual count was two more units than the 153 units originally mentioned in the campus-wide e-mail.

The Crossett campus total more than doubled the amount of blood collected at the Monticello campus. According to a campus-wide e-mail, the April 23 Life Share Blood Drive collected 73 units in the Gibson University Center. The Blood Drive Team consisted of representatives from Life Share, UAM Knights, Alpha Phi Alpha, University Center Staff and UAM Student Health Services.

According to the campus-wide e-mail, Phillip Thomas, donor resources coordinator for Life Share Blood Centers, praised the Monticello drive. “It was our most successful drive yet!” he said.
