Mary Heady Celebrate National Library Week at Taylor Library, April 15-21 It’s National Library Week, a time to celebrate the contributions of libraries, librarians and library workers in schools, campuses and communities nationwide, and the perfect time for the community to come together at the library. The University of Arkansas at Monticello’s Fred J. Taylor Library is celebrating National Library Week by displaying an exhibit on the history of libraries during the month of April. Come by and take a look! The library is also hosting a free trial during National Library Week of the "Access My Library" databases, including The Shakespeare Collection, The Small Business Resource Center and the Health and Wellness Resource Center. Visit the What's New section of the library Web site for more details. “Everyday, libraries in big cities and small towns, colleges and universities, in schools and in businesses help transform their communities,” Library Director Sandra Campbell said. “At our library, faculty, staff and students can come together for lectures and programs, to do research with the assistance of a trained professional, to get a job or to find homework help.”
First sponsored in
1958, National Library Week is a national observance sponsored by
the American Library Association (ALA) and libraries across the
country each April.
