Matt Terry is the new Director of Recruitment/Retention for Delta Teaching Corps in the education department at the University of Arkansas at Monticello. He recruits candidates for the School of Education, primarily in Masters of Arts in teaching. “Terry was hired because of his ability and capability. He has great communication skills and is a friendly person. He has great ability with technology and great ideas for the education program,” Dean of the School of Education Peggy Doss said. “His willingness to learn, ask questions and try new things makes him an excellent employee.” Terry, 24 years old, received his Bachelor of Science and Mathematics in May 2005, and he finished the MAT program in May 2006. Students can receive advice from a former, experienced student. Terry could provide mentorship for current MAT students. “You have to maintain 3.0 grade point average over all or last 60 hours to be eligible and have passed the Praxis I and II to get into the MAT program,” Terry said. Terry likes spending time with his wife Amber Terry, former UAM graduate, and newborn daughter Cooper Terry. He currently lives in Monticello and loves playing golf in his spare time. “Terry also does photography on the side, which
gives good photos of the school, and he also helped revise UAM’s Web
page. He helps send out newsletters to the public schools to let them
prepare,” Doss said. “(He) helps in the Educational Renewal Zone and
also helped supervise MAT interns.” Have a comment? Please e-mail us. ŠThe Voice 2007 Revised 10/29/2007 05:51:35 PM — http://www.uamont.edu/organizations/thevoice/4_21/terry.htm |
