Campus Police Log

March 26

Went to assist a student who passed out in Willard Hall.  The subject was transported to the emergency room.

Received a call that music at the University Center was too loud.  Upon arrival, no music was playing and most attendees were leaving.  The remaining students entered the Patio Cafe for the Jazz and poetry reading.

Received a call from the Horsfall Resident Assistant asking what all the smoke was from. I proceeded to the area and found no smoke, but an odor resembling burning trash was in the air.  The source was never located.

March 27

Call from University apartments re: a student and her boyfriend parked in the middle of the parking lot refusing to move to allow her to park her own vehicle.  Upon arrival, the student stated that they were looking for some missing money in the trunk.  I asked her to move the vehicle into the parking space, which she did.  The two residents argued briefly until I stepped in.  No further incident.

Made contact with a group of juveniles walking around the pond.  Turned out to be the Shady Grove Baptist Church youth group on a "treasure hunt."  They were measuring the name bricks with bananas.  They completed their measurements and departed campus.  (Length of 512 bananas).

Took several calls questioning about the weather; advised all staff and students of pending thunderstorm warning.

Checked the weather forecast with Monticello Police Department.  Drew County was under a tornado watch until 8 p.m.

March 28

Boosted a vehicle in front of the Babin Business Center.  Observed a subject placing advertisements on the windshields of parked vehicles in front of the BBC and Willard.  Made contact with the subject and advised that was not allowed on campus and that there were boards scattered around campus to post that kind of information.  Also told subject to obtain permission prior to placing the fliers on these boards.

Stopped by a male subject who said that his former girlfriend would not give a radio back to him.  Made contact with the female, and she said that the radio was given to her by him and installed in her car.  The female wants a university no contact order issued to the male subject because he has been harassing her.  Will advise Director of Resident Life in the morning.

March 29

   Traffic stop for speeding.

A call from the on-duty RA of Horsfall Hall advising that a resident has been receiving harassing phone calls from a former boyfriend.  Out at Horsfall to talk with the student.
