Alpha's Step Team - The Alphas Nationally Competing Step Team entertains students outside of the University Center Monday.

Every spring semester the Pi Psi Chapter of Alpha Phi Alpha Fraternity Incorporated hosts Alpha Week. They do this in hopes of educating the student body about their organization.

During this week the Alphas visit local high schools and educate them on sexually transmitted diseases, voting and college life, as well as providing a tutoring service.

New member Robert Webb said, “I enjoyed working with the kids, and it helped me develop better leadership skills.”

The leaders of the Alpha fraternity include, President Jason Bailey, Vice President Michael Scott, Editor of Sphinx Chris Allen, Treasurer Arlando Wilson and Secretary Damion Penn.

Currently this organization holds the highest cumulative grade point average than any other fraternity with a 2.8 GPA. Alpha Phi Alpha also has a greater number of members than any other fraternity on campus with 23. They also have a nationally-competing step team, and they have the bragging rights for Fraternity of the Year.

Four-year active member Theodus Luckett said, “Even though our step team placed third nationally, we still believe there is room for improvement.”

Upon all these accomplishments this fraternity is still looking to raise their standards to even greater heights.
