For Sale - Sigma Tau Delta member Heather Raley sales donated books to students in the MCB lobby to raise money for the international English honor society.

Members of the Omega Chi Chapter of Sigma Tau Delta, an International English Honor Society, hosted their annual book sale March 6 – 8 in the University of Arkansas at Monticello’s Memorial Classroom Building lobby.

Students and faculty received an opportunity to look at hardback or paperback books, a variety of magazines, DVDs, CDs and tapes, donated for the honor society to sale. The prices varied from item to item. Anyone who bought four books received one for free.

   Set prices included:

  • Hardbacks for $1
  • DVDs, CDs and tapes for $1
  • Paperbacks for 50 cents
  • Magazines for 25 cents

The Honor Society uses the book sale to raise money to buy necessary items for the School of Arts and Humanities. Last year the department received DVD and VCR combo players for the faculty to use.

Assistant Professor of English Sarah Bloom has sponsored Sigma Tau Delta for two semesters. She spoke fondly of the students within the organization.

“They work very hard, and they are very selfless,” Bloom said.
