SGA Meets to Discuss Campus

Brooke Burger
Managing Editor

During the Student Government Association meeting Sept. 12, the group primarily discussed the initiation of a voter registration drive, which will occur on Sept. 19, 20 and 21.

Teaming up with the Ambassadors, SGA will set up booths from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. at three different locations each day.

They will set up the first booth in front of the University Center on Tuesday, Sept. 19.  On Wednesday, Sept. 20, the booth will move to the Science Center. Students can find the booth in the middle of campus between the Memorial Classroom Building, Harris Hall and the Fred J. Taylor Library on Friday, Sept. 21.

SGA plans to offer a drawing for students who register to have a chance to win one door prize per day. They will also provide information for voters and forms for those people who live in different counties.

The association also discussed involving all organizations on campus to promote better study habits among the students. They would like to encourage organizations to set up tutoring programs for their members.

   Other topics of discussion included:

  • overcrowding in the dormitories,
  • putting in a work order to maintenance about the danger the bushes at the Maxwell intersection pose to drivers,
  • starting pep rallies before the home football games and
  • increasing the variety of activities offered on campus.
