Sports Columnists Since the arrival of Chancellor Jack Lassiter, tailgating before home football games has become a ritual for many people. However, there have been some disputes over the rules and regulations regarding pre-game festivities. So, here are some of the rules and regulations regarding tailgating this weekend: 1. Tailgating festivities should begin approximately four hours before kickoff. 2. Keep any and all music at a moderate listening level. 3. Clean up after yourselves. Trash receptacles are available for trash disposal. 4. No outside food or beverage should be brought into the stadium. 5. The University of Arkansas at Monticello does not condone the possession or consumption of alcoholic beverages on campus. The most important thing to remember is to have as much fun as possible and be courteous and respectful of others. Oh yeah, and be extra supportive of those men in green, black and white. They may be having a rough time so far, but the season is young and anything can happen in the next eight weeks. The UAM "Walk of Champions" will begin two hours before game time, and everyone is invited to come and see the great football players, cheerleaders and band members. As for there only being four home games this season, there is a perfectly good explanation for this. The Boll Weevils play in the Gulf South Conference, which is on a rotating schedule. This means that teams are not always played every year. This year as the schedule rotated the University of Central Arkansas in Conway moved up to Division-I sports. UAM was supposed to play UCA in Monticello but that became impossible. ![]() There will be more home games next season! Have a comment? Please e-mail us.
