Julie Gentry Contributing Writer The University of Arkansas at Monticello’s Wellness Fair will begin at 10 a.m., Wednesday, March 7 in the John F. Gibson University Center Green Room. The Fair will last until 1 p.m. The UAM Wellness Fair brings campus and community resources together in an enjoyable interactive atmosphere to expose and educate students, faculty and staff to the various avenues of wellness. Wellness is more than being physically healthy. This year the fair is promoting the concept of 6D, the six dimensions of wellness - social, physical, spiritual, emotional, intellectual and occupational. Wellness is finding a healthy balance in the quality of your life. The Fair will feature informational displays and provide free health screenings for cholesterol, blood sugar, blood pressure, vision, ear exam, body fat percentage and more. The Army National Guard is bringing a climbing wall, and State Troopers will conduct their annual Fatal Vision driving course. New to the fair is an Oxygen Bar sponsored by S.A.A.C., CHAMPS and Counseling and Testing through a grant received from the Arkansas Collegiate Drug Education Committee. Visitors to the Fair may register for many prizes from the exhibitors and the UAM Wellness Committee. Participants in this year’s fair include a number of university health vendors as well as many community and campus resources:
