The Arkansas Council Teachers and Mathematics, ACTM, held their annual Regional Math Contest Feb. 24. Nine schools and 251 students participated in the contest. The participating schools included: Warren, Rison, Monticello Middle School, Drew Central, Lake Village Middle School, McGhee, Star City and Abiding Faith Christian from Crossett and Dewitt. Students competed by taking test in five areas of math: Algebra I, Algebra II, Calculus, Geometry and Trigonometry and Pre-Calculus. The winners for Algebra I:

Overall, 14 colleges give the test in Arkansas and up to 2,000 students participated in the contest this year. The winning students receive an invitation to
the state competition April 28 at the University of Central Arkansas in
Conway.
