Agriculture Division Appreciates Support

   Representatives from the University of Arkansas at Monticello’s Division of Agriculture presented certificates of appreciation recently to members of the Arkansas Farm Bureau Federation for the organization’s support of UAM agriculture students attending the 2007 American Farm Bureau national convention in Salt Lake City, Utah.

   Bobby Hood, president of the Drew County Farm Bureau, Teddy Patterson and Harry Willems of the Arkansas Farm Bureau Federation accepted the certificates on behalf of their organizations for providing student travel support to the national convention.  

   Mark Couch, an agriculture business major from Pine Bluff, represented the UAM Collegiate Farm Bureau in the “Meet the Researchers” session of the convention. Couch displayed a poster developed last fall by Associate Professor of Agricultural Economics Bob Stark’s Economics of Environmental Management class to highlight the development of biofuels in southeast Arkansas, western Mississippi and northeast Louisiana. Stark accompanied Couch at the national convention.
