Criminal Justice and Political Science students at the University of Arkansas at Monticello will get a close-up look at the political and legal systems of Ireland during an eight-day trip to the emerald isle May 14-22.

The trip is part of the annual Political Science and Criminal Justice field study, which provides upper-division academic credit in either field. Cost of the trip is $1,500 plus tuition, fees and expenses. The trip is open to 20 students on a first-come, first-served basis. The tour will depart from Little Rock May 14 and return May 22.

Adam McKee, assistant professor of Criminal Justice, and Chris Wright, instructor of Political Science, will lead the field study, which will include a tour of Trinity College and Leinster House, home of the Irish parliament. Other highlights include visits to the National Gallery of Ireland, the National Museum, the Supreme Court of Ireland, the United States Embassy, the Heraldic Museum, St. Patrick’s Cathedral, Christchurch Cathedral, the Malahide Castle and Tullynally Castle.

Participants will stay in Dublin. The final two days of the trip, students will have the opportunity to use their free time to explore the Irish countryside outside Dublin or stay in the Dublin metropolitan area.

For more information, contact Adam McKee at (870) 460-1279 or send an e-mail to mckee@uamont.edu.
