Amber Rowe Staff Writer LifeShare Blood Centers named its volunteer of the year at the annual luncheon last week. The University of Arkansas-Monticello College of Technology-Crossett nursing instructor Shela Upshaw received the award for her work in organizing the school’s blood drives. The annual award covers Northeast Louisiana as well as Southeast Arkansas. Upshaw said, “It’s very exciting for our school to be recognized.” At the present time, LifeShare’s supply is at a three-year low due to a majority of its donors being service men. The next blood drive at COT-Crossett will be April 11. For more information about LifeShare Blood
