Located at 1324 Hwy. 278 West in Monticello, the new restaurant will provide a variety of dishes that will include seafood, steaks, Chinese and more. The House takes its name, Q & Y, from owners Qiao and Yun Chen, who also go by James and Susan. Qiao and Yun have included Chinese tradition for decorating the House. The chairs and tables are all of Chinese style. In addition to the Q & Y House, the couple also owns the Fortune Cookie in Monticello. "Depending on how this one does, we might close the Fortune Cookie or leave it open," James said. The House offers a unique buffet for lunch and dinner Monday through Saturday from 11 a.m. to 2:30 p.m. and 4 p.m. to 9 p.m. Sunday the buffet will be available from 11 a.m. to 8 p.m. The buffet will provide a multicultural selection of Chinese and American style foods. The buffet will include such items as shrimp, chicken, crab legs, fish, clam strips, Chinese fried rice and lo mein veg, just to name a few.
The Q & Y
House held a VIP opening that took place Saturday for invited guests only.
The event had a big turnout, and the food was great. They offered
free entrees and desserts to the VIP and special guests. The owners are in the process of trying to obtain an ABC liquor license to serve alcoholic drinks and wines. The Q & Y House is a very nice restaurant and open for business now. Have a comment? Please e-mail us.
