Former UAM Chancellor Claude Babin lost his wife, Barbara, Dec. 6, 2006. Babin served the campus as President of Arkansas A & M from 1962 to 1971 and then as University of Arkansas at Monticello Chancellor from 1971 to 1977. Babin served many more years as professor of history, ultimately serving 38 years at UAM. Mrs. Babin graciously assisted him in his successful career. The university sent a memorial gift on behalf of the faculty, staff and students. Ernestine Coker Professor Emeritus Jesse M. Coker lost his wife, Ernestine, Thursday, Jan. 18. Coker served
the University of Arkansas at Monticello for 24 years
from 1965 through 1989. Yolanda Dykes Coach Donald Dykes lost his wife, Yolanda, during the Christmas holidays. The funeral service was held on Saturday, Dec. 30, 2006, in Baton Rouge, La. The university sent a memorial gift on behalf of the faculty, staff and students. Parnell brothers Wayne Puckett Godfrey Sawyer Kay Crook, employee in the Library, lost her father, Godfrey Sawyer, on Jan. 1. The university sent a memorial gift on behalf of the faculty, staff and students. Wanda Sivils Bookstore employee Judy Howard lost her step-mom, Wanda Sivils, on Dec. 21, 2006.
