University of Arkansas at Monticello head softball coach Alvy Early has announced the signings of Brittany Lockhart (Mansfield, Texas / Summit HS), Lindsey Randall (Keithville, La. / Bossier Parish CC), and Amy Mardis (Houston, Texas / Bossier Parish CC) to national letters of intent to play softball at the University of Arkansas at Monticello.

Lockhart has spent the last three years playing at Summit High School for coach Lisa Swan. Lockhart hit .246 with 18 RBI as a junior, ranking third on the team in RBI. “I’m impressed with Brittany’s athleticism,” said UAM head softball coach Alvy Early. “She has the ability to play on the infield or in the outfield. I like her attitude, work ethic, and potential”.

Both Randall and Mardis will join the UAM program as junior transfers after playing two seasons for coach Ashley Grisham at Bossier Parish Community College. Randall earned All-Region honors at BPCC as a freshman as the Cavaliers finished with a 34-20 record, picking up 20 conference wins and earning a top-20 ranking midway through the season.

“I think Lindsey is a quality player that has shown she has the tools to play with the success she’s experienced at BPCC”, said Early. “She is an outstanding competitor and performer”.

Mardis will be looked upon to provide depth and stability behind the plate for the Cotton Blossoms.

“Amy is an outstanding defensive catcher. I like the way she works behind the plate, said Early “She brings experience with her that will help us in that department”.

Early is excited about the potential of the three newcomers to the UAM program. “I’m really pleased with these signings,” said Early. “We brought in three quality individuals that can play the game. I’m looking forward to working with them.”
