Media Services Bob Ware, vice chancellor for the UAM College of Technology-McGehee, has been named Man of the Year by the McGehee Chamber of Commerce. The award was presented at the recent McGehee Chamber of Commerce banquet. Ware has served as a part of the administration on the McGehee campus since 1975 when the school was known as Great Rivers Vocational Technical School. He has served as assistant director, director of extension, director of financial aid, supervisor of instruction and chief General Education Diploma examiner. Ware became president of Great Rivers Technical Institute in 2001 and was named vice chancellor when the institute merged with UAM in 2003 to become the UAM College of Technology-McGehee. Ware holds a Bachelor of Science degree in history and political science from Arkansas AM&N (now UA-Pine Bluff) and a Master of Science degree in vocational technical administration from Arkansas State. He has also completed additional study at the University of Arkansas at Fayetteville. He is a member of both the McGehee and Dumas Chambers of Commerce.
