Punter Named All-GSC Second Team

BIRMINGHAM, Ala. --- University of Arkansas at Monticello punter Anthony Rodriguez (Sr., Franklin, La.) was named to the All-Gulf South Conference Second Team on Thursday. The All-GSC squads are selected by the Gulf South Conference head football coaches.

   Rodriguez, an all-Region selection in 2005 and 2006 pre-season All-American, led the Gulf South Conference in punting average (38.5 yards per punt), punting yardage (2,428 yards), and had the Gulf South Conference’s longest punt of the year, a 68-yarder against Ouachita Baptist. For his performance against Ouachita Baptist, Rodriguez was selected as both the Gulf South Conference and National Player of the Week for special teams.

   Rodriguez has been nominated for and will be considered for All-Region honors in the upcoming weeks.
