Weevils Fall in Finale

CLEVELAND, Miss. --- The University of Arkansas at Monticello Boll Weevils (1-10, 1-7 GSC) could only manage 50 yards of total offense as they dropped a 53-0 decision to the 14th ranked Delta State University Statesmen (9-2, 7-1 GSC) on Saturday at Parker Field.

   The Statesmen rolled to a 27-0 lead after the first quarter and extended their lead to 47-0 at the half.

   DSU forced four UAM turnovers, and only allowed the UAM offense into DSU territory once. The Weevil offense could only manage one drive of more than four plays.

   Elijah McDonald (So., Morton, Miss.) completed eight of 19 passes for 27 yards. Brandon Mayweather (Sr., Crossett) and Lavar Wyatt (Jr., Newport) led UAM with seven tackles apiece.
