Blossoms Drop Exhibition

    WACO, TEXAS --- The University of Arkansas at Monticello Cotton Blossoms basketball team dropped a 107-53 exhibition decision to the defending NCAA Division I National Champion Baylor Lady Bears tonight at the Ferrell Center in Waco.

   While the Blossoms were able to control the perimeter, connecting on 14 three-pointers, the Lady Bears dominated the inside, scoring 72 points in the paint. Baylor held a 55-22 rebounding advantage for the game while UAM committed 20 turnovers to Baylor's 10.

   The Lady Bears placed six players in double figures, led by Sophia Young with 20 points on a perfect 10-of-10 shooting. Theresa Tran led the Cotton Blossoms with 11 points.

   The Cotton Blossoms open regular season play on Wednesday, Nov. 16, traveling to Livingston, Ala. to play the University of West Alabama. Tip-off is set for 5:30 p.m.
