Students Should Eat Healthy

Theressa Lee
Staff Writer

Are you eating right? Should you be getting more or less of this or that?

"Students should have daily servings of fruits, vegetables and water everyday," said Jotis White-Lee, a registered nurse at the University of Arkansas Medical Sciences.

Students on campus complained of not having much energy and being fatigued.

"I eat pancakes and cereal for breakfast, no lunch, and maybe chicken, mashed potatoes, and macaroni and cheese for dinner," said Sheresa Jones, a student at the University of Arkansas at Monticello. "I eat too many cookies."

White-Lee said you can eat too many foods with empty calories such as candy and fruit juices.

"I burn so much energy on the basketball court, I try to at least eat breakfast and dinner," said UAM student Chasity Whitehurst. "I drink at least three to four glasses of water a day."

White-Lee said exercising and eating healthier will help you maintain more energy and be happier.
