The Ambassadors Club sponsored the 2005 Pumpkin Contest on Thursday, Oct. 27.

The contest promotes student involvement. Each club came up with a theme to paint on a pumpkin to be judged by three independent city officials. The top three winners received a prize donated by the Ambassadors. The pumpkins were then sent to a local children’s home for Halloween.

The pumpkins were on display in the Adams Hall Friday, Oct. 28 from 9 a.m. until noon. Each had creative themes such as a weevil, a fish, etc.Christine Bryant and Pamela Hopper of Alpha Chi described their theme.

"Alpha Chi is comprised of the top students of each field of study, so it represented the club. There is a ghost studying accounting because money always seems to disappear," they said.

First place went to Alpha Sigma Tau, second place went to women’s basketball and third place went to Student Nurses’ Association.
