Bradly Gill Arts & Entertainment Editor Jack Thompson, Jackass of the Week. After a high-profile lawyer wrote a satire where he offered to donate $10,000 to charity if someone could develop a Grand Theft Auto-style spoof on the video game industry, he later rescinded his comment, claiming he never intended to pay the money. However, the owners of the Web site Penny Arcade (http://www.pennyarcade.com/) donated the money in Thompson's name. Thompson quickly responded by writing the Seattle chief of police, charging Gabe and Tycho, the owners of Penny Arcade, with harassment. It's just proof that playing violent games will make you donate money to charity. Texas Outlaw Tom "Black Hat" DeLay. A Texas court issued a warrant for Rep. Tom DeLay. DeLay is being charged with state conspiracy and money laundering charges in connection with the 2002 fundraising for the Republican Party. My advice to Mr. DeLay is to lay low at his mom's house, check the window every 15 minutes and check the airline fares to Brazil. Astrology must be taught in schools. A biochemist from Lehigh University admitted on the stand that according to his definition of "theory," astrology is just as valid as intelligent design. The testimony was part of a case brought on by 11 parents from Dover, Pa. I'm not going to cast judgment here, but anyone who doesn't think this debate is about religion is fooling themselves. The Future is now, and in Britain. Britian will soon be getting national ID cards which carry fingerprint, iris and face recognition, according to Prime Minister Tony Blair. ID cards won't be made compulsory until 2013. If you think the idea of mandatory ID cards goes against all civil liberties, and you won't stand for it, take your driver's license out of your wallet or purse. Rent of the Week "Batman Begins" DVD (Christopher Nolan, director) It is the best Batman movie ever. Forget Keaton, forget Kilmer, forget Adam West. Christian Bale is now, and forever will be, the Dark Knight. Few actors can play Bruce Wayne and Batman well, and Bale nails both characters right on the head. "Begins" is a good story detailing how Batman got his start fighting crime. You will do yourself a great disservice by not watching this movie.
