Graduation Regalia:

"I understand you completely. I graduated high school in a black gown, but our school colors were black and gold. That made sense, right? I think that changes are being made to the wrong things there at UAM. I graduated May 2004 in the Kelly Green robe, UAM's signature color, the university's personality. Why change it?

"I was faced with a similar situation my senior year there. The Weevil Online was renamed the UAM Voice all because of the fact that Patricia Roberts, who was barely there a full year before she was dismissed, was given the okay to rename the student publication. Somethings simply need to be left alone.

"Alumni want to come back to tradition, something familiar. I am not saying that all change is bad, I saw the master plan which is BAD. Those are the type of changes that are important, that deserves attention, not small things such as the color of graduation robes. Protest Green, keep tradition alive."

Editor's note: For the record, The Voice sounds much better than The Weevil Online. - MF

Adviser's note: I must go with the editor on this one. As a alumnus of the University of Tennessee, I'm really glad I did not wear hunter orange to graduation. I saw enough of that at Neyland Stadium.- RS
