Twelve women have been elected by a vote of the student body to reign over homecoming festivities at the University of Arkansas at Monticello Oct. 20-22.

The 2005 homecoming queen will be selected from among the 12-member court by a second vote of the student body. The queen will be announced during a pre-game ceremony prior to the UAM-Arkansas Tech football game at Convoy Leslie-Cotton Boll Stadium on Oct. 22.

The football team chose 20-year-old Gemma Gibson of Dodd City, Texas, as its "Football Sweetheart." She is the daughter of Randy and Susan Gibson. Though part of the homecoming court, Gibson cannot become Homecoming Queen because she was not part of the student election.
