Parker Emcees Hall of Fame Dinner

   A limited number of tickets are still available for the University of Arkansas at Monticello Sports Hall of Fame induction banquet Oct. 20 at 6:30 p.m.

   Tickets are $30 and may be purchased by calling (870) 460-1074.

   This year’s inductees include football All-Americans Ronnie Higgins and Dannie Barker, basketball All-Americans Carol Harrington-Strickland and Danny Reed, and the late Mike Nichols, a stand-out two-way lineman from 1956-59.

   Coaching legend Jimmy "Red" Parker of Fordyce will serve as master of ceremonies for the event. Parker, the current head football coach at Fordyce High School, played and coached at what was then Arkansas A&M and is a member of the UAM Sports Hall of Fame. His coaching resume includes head coaching jobs at The Citadel, Clemson, Delta State, Southern Arkansas, Ouachita Baptist and Rison High School, as well as serving as offensive coordinator at Ole Miss.
