Staff Writer Computer Information Systems students are participating in a long-distance, virtual internship program. Rural Sourcing, a company based out of North Carolina, specializes in providing high-quality information technology solutions for businesses. The company provides virtual internships for juniors and seniors from various universities around the country. Samantha Bunting, Shane Clanton and Denson Watson represent the students selected from the University of Arkansas at Monticello. They started interning with the company Sept. 26. They will assist the company with providing global services to different companies from the convenience of a special lab that the students use on campus. Rural Sourcing provided these paid internships on a semester basis to selected candidates. Bunting really enjoys working with the company. "This Internship program is a great way to learn how companies conduct business which isn't learned in the classroom," she said. "This program helps me better prepare myself for the real world. The projects we work on are challenging, but the experience we gain is worth the hard work." Jim Roiger, head of the CIS department, speaks highly of the program. "I think that this is a wonderful experience available to students," he said. Students' submitted
resumes last spring and Rural Sourcing conducted
