Sports Editor The Lady Bison stampeded all over the University of Arkansas at Monticello Cotton Blossoms in a three-game sweep Sept. 27 at Steelman Fieldhouse to improve their win streak to 17. Potential conference MVP Synda Veitenheimer had 17 kills in the contest while posting a .424 attack percentage. Games 1 and 2 ended with a 20 – 30 victory for the Lady Bison. Game 3 see-sawed until the latter part of the contest, when Harding rolled off to a 27 – 30 win. Kasey McBrearty of the Blossoms led all kills with a total of 20 for the match. The loss puts the Blossoms record at 4-11 (0-3 GSC) while Harding improved to 18-1 (3-0 GSC). "Harding is a very experienced team," UAM head coach Nicole Smith said. "There is a reason that they win conference every year and the Synda Veitenheimer is probally going to become the MVP of the conference. We played better overall as a team than we have in previous games."
The Blossoms played back-to-back games when they traveled to
Arkadelphia Wednesday to play the Ouachita Baptist University Lady Tigers. The Blossoms lost in five
games.
The Blossoms upcoming home stands on Tuesday and Thursday of next week against Central Arkansas and Christian Brothers will prove to be important for the team, which is still alive as far as finishing the season with a winning record or making post season play.
