Linna Jones
Staff Writer

The Music Theatre Workshop presented two performances of "The Fantasticks" at the University of Arkansas Monticello April 7-8 at 7:30 p.m. in the Fine Arts Center.

The cast of the musical worked long and hard to put the performance together. On opening night, they received laughter throughout the night and a standing ovation at the end of the performance. The cast worked well together and did a great job.

Senior Jim Reeves, who played El Gallo, commented on his experience doing the musical.

"It's was a lot of work and a lot of time spent doing it," he said.

Senior John Gladden, who played Hucklebee, commented about his experience working on "The Fantasticks."

"It was a blast. Every day was something new," he said.

Senior Tracy Sutherland, the Mute, commented about acting as a wall.

"It was tough having to stand still in one spot for very long," Sutherland said.
