The University of Arkansas-Monticello Cotton Blossoms defeated the Williams Baptist Eagles March 3 in a 7 - 4 scoring frenzy.

   The Cotton Blossoms began the game by giving up four runs to the Eagles before scoring two runs in the 4th inning and capitalizing with a five-run 5th inning.

   The Blossoms were credited with six errors for the game, while Williams Baptist made only one.

   The Cotton Blossoms improved their record to 5 -6.

   This was the first day of the two-day tournament that involves teams of the Gulf South Conference and non-conference foes, including Arkansas Tech, Ouchita Baptist and the University of Arkansas at Pine Bluff.
