MEMPHIS, Tenn. --- The University of Arkansas at Monticello Boll Weevils (14-2) swept Crichton College in a doubleheader in Memphis Feb. 26, winning 15-3 and 5-3.

The Weevils opened scoring in the first inning, plating the first run of the game on a double play. Crichton tied the game in the bottom of the frame on an error.

UAM added three more runs in the fourth inning after RBI singles by Nick Tillsley (So., Fort MacLeod, Alta.) and Ken Merrill (Sr., North Little Rock) and a sacrifice fly to take an 8-1 lead.

The Comets cut into the UAM lead, narrowing the gap to 8-2 in the bottom of the fourth, but the Weevils responded with a seven-run sixth inning to seal the victory.

Aaron Cotter (Sr., South Slocan, B.C.) picked up the win to improve to 4-1 after scattering eight hits over six innings, allowing three runs, two earned, and fanning eight.

In the finale, the Weevils rallied from a 3-1 deficit in the top of the sixth with a four-run inning, capped by a pair of bases-loaded walks to take a 5-3 lead.
