This week we will be looking at Alpha Sigma Tau and Kappa Alpha Order. These two organizations work well on campus, along with their own community service projects.

There are some exciting activities coming up on campus this week. Look this weekend for Kappa Alpha Psi and Omega Osi Phi having joint activities for their 1911 Weekend. They will be hosting a collaborative effort of activities to celebrate their organizations' charter back in 1911.

Also, coming up this week will be the Alpha Week sponsored by Alpha Phi Alpha. Look around campus for their activities next week. If you don't know, there will be several sponsored week of activities throughout this semester by various fraternities.

Now, let's take a closer look at the two highlighted organizations for this week.

First is the Alpha Mu Chapter of Alpha Sigma Tau. The ladies of Alpha Sigma Tau participate in several charity organizations. They have donated over $400 to the Pine Mt. Settlement School, Options Domestic Abuse Women's Shelter and the Susan G. Komen Race for the Cure. They also donate time for Habitat for Humanity and the Susan G. Komen Race for the Cure.

The ladies of Alpha Sigma Tau find the Susan G. Komen Race for the Cure to be the most satisfying, because it hits very close to home for their members. Some members have relatives that have suffered from breast cancer and that makes the service more meaningful for the ladies. The ladies spend many long hours raising funds and donating time.

Alpha Sigma Tau tries to portray to the public an image of responsibility and achievement for their ladies. They are young ladies who strive to help others in anyway possible. These ladies are a diverse group of individuals, who enjoy spending time with one another.

The gentlemen of the Epsilon Chi Chapter of the Kappa Alpha Order are also active in their community service projects. They participate in the Adopt-A-Highway program and the Muscular Dystrophy Association.

They find the Muscular Dystrophy Association the most fulfilling. They donate their time and effort to help this organization. They try to portray themselves as a group of gentlemen. The gentlemen of Kappa Alpha Order donated over 100 hours of community service time toward their service projects. They are a true class of gentlemen on our campus.

Again, look on campus for the activities from Alpha Week and 1911 Weekend. If you have any questions about the Greek activities you may contact Robin Barker at the Student Affairs office in the Gibson University Center.
