MAGNOLIA --- Billy McDaniel (Sr., Hearne, Texas) tied a career high
with 34 points as the University of Arkansas at
Monticello Boll Weevils (16-8, 9-4 GSC) rolled to an
87-69 win Feb. 16 over the Southern Arkansas University Muleriders. With the win, the Weevils qualified
for the Gulf South Conference tournament in Tupelo,

McDaniel was 12-of-16 from the floor including a perfect 6-of-6
from three-point range.

would push its lead to 21 (47-26) with 3:05 left in
the half, before the Muleriders began a late rally in
the first half to cut the halftime margin to 13 (47-34).
The Weevils opened the second half hot, pushing back out to a
22-point (68-46) lead with 8:34 left, and held the

Monticello) had 15 points, Brandon Mayweather
(Sr., Crossett) added 14 points, and J.B. Williams
(Jr., Compton, Calif.) scored 13 points in the winning
effort.
The Weevils held a 34-24 advantage on the rebounding glass, and
shot 61.5 percent from the floor (32-of-52) for the
contest.
The Boll Weevils
return to action Monday, Feb. 20, as they face
