Site Provides Alcohol Screening

Kaitlyn Woods
Staff Writer

An online anonymous alcohol screening can be taken on the University of Arkansas at Monticello’s Web site to offer students, faculty and staff information on depression and alcohol use.

The screening allows students to answer questions about their drinking habits, and if they have a history with depression, for a self assessment.

"It asks all of these questions so the student gets an idea of the situation they are in and gives links for more information," said Terri Richardson, registered nurse and director of Student Health Services.

Although the screening is completely confidential, Richardson receives a monthly report of how many people log on. Richardson  and UAM’s counselor Laura Hughes receive a compilation of the answers, giving them an idea of where help is needed.

The screening can be found at http://www.mentalhealthscreening.org/screening/loginpage.asp. When asked for a login name, enter UOFAMONTICELLO.
