Bites the Dust -- Sam, three-time winner of the world’s ugliest dog contest, died at the age of 14.

World’s Ugliest Dog dies

Although the world's ugliest dog was without a doubt the most hideous thing ever created by God (besides Paris Hilton), Sam was an Internet phenomenon. Heaven has one more angle, and he is hairless with crooked teeth. Strangely, I’ve heard more about this dog dying than Karate Kid star Pat Morita.

Limbo may be a thing of the past.

No, not the party game involving a stick and massive back-bending, the place the Catholic Church teaches babies go if they die before being baptized. A committee will advise Pope Benedict to do away with the teaching. The late Pope John Paul II favored the ending of the teaching and was working on getting rid of it before his death.

Xbox 360, your new overlord

Since its launch date the system has already sold 300,000 to 400,000 copies, according to American Technology Research analyst P.J. Mcnealy. Some gamers have even reported being robbed at gunpoint for their highly valued game system. It's just a video game people; in three years you can get it dirt cheap with no waiting in line, muggings or bidding on eBay.

50-year-old man pulls truck … with penis.

Ouch! Grandmaster of the Iron Crotch (I swear I’m not making this up) Jin-Sheng attached his penis to a rental truck and pulled it not once, but twice. Jin-Shin is a practitioner of Qigon, the Chinese art of movement and breathing to increase energy.

Read of the Week

"Catcher in the Rye" by J.D. Salinger
A masterpiece of a novel about insanity and disillusionment, Holden Caulfield is a teenager sick of the phoniness of the adult world around him. The book details his wanderings in New York and the characters he meets there. Forget the conspiracy stuff, this book will only make you more educated, not an assassin.
