Campus Hosts Christmas Concert

   The University of Arkansas at Monticello concert and jazz bands will present their annual Christmas concert Thursday, Dec. 8 at 7:30 p.m. in the UAM Fine Arts Center auditorium. The concert is free and open to the public.

   The performance will be conducted by Gary Meggs, director of bands, and Les Pack, assistant director,
and will feature a variety of holiday music as well a "big band" jazz.

   Jazz Band one will present music from Gordon Goodwin's "Big Phat Band" while Jazz Band two will perform music from the Count Basie library as well as selections by Arkansas composer Brian Rhodes.

   The concert band will perform Christmas music by Newell Long, Mozart and Offenbach while the percussion ensemble will perform "Deck Them Halls"
by Chris Rockwell.
