Library Displays Earthenware Exhibit

How it's done -- Scott Lykens with ceramics

  An exhibit of functional earthenware by University of Arkansas at Monticello art professor Scott Lykens will be on display Dec. 9 through Jan. 27 in the main gallery of the Taylor Library and Technology Center at UAM.

   The exhibit, entitled "Introducing: Scott Lykens," consists of wheel thrown and hand-built ceramics decorated from Lykens' personal color palette.

   Gallery hours are 8 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. Monday through Friday. The exhibit is free and open to the public.

   A native of Reading, Pa., Lykens came to UAM from Winston-Salem, N.C. He holds a bachelor of fine arts degree from Indiana University of Pennsylvania, and a master of fine arts degree from Kent University.

   Lykens has had exhibits in galleries, art centers and museums in Detroit, Los Angeles, West Palm Beach, Philadelphia, Baltimore and Kansas City.
