   Fourteen students from the University of Arkansas at Monticello are currently exhibiting their art work at the Guachoya Cultural Art Center in Lake Village through Dec. 30.

   The exhibition consists of two-dimensional art pieces in a variety of media, which shows individual interest in landscape, portraiture, collage, and wildlife. A reception will be held for the artists Dec. 1 from 6-7 p.m.

   The Guachoya Cultural Art Center is located at 1652 Highway 65 in Lake Village. The center was established in 1999 as a non-profit organization dedicated to preserving and promoting the history and cultures of the area through art. The gallery features works of area artists as well as traveling exhibits, and is open to the public Tuesday through Friday from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m.

   UAM students participating in the exhibition are Thomas Breeding, Bernadette Carmical, Justin Miller and Rusty Nail of Monticello, Martha Rico of Warren, Hannah Shelby of Wilmar, Josh Gibson of Tillar, Kimberly Renfroe of McGehee, Shaun Wilson of Hollandale, Miss., Jennifer Cobb of Dumas, Sarah Dorton of Eudora, David Felts of Pine Bluff, and Ashley Sivils and Ashley Smith of Crossett.
