Bradly Gill Arts &
Entertainment EditorMeditation: The way to a
thicker brain.
A study of about 20 individuals revealed that daily meditation
increases the thickness of areas of the brain related to perception and
the autonomic monitoring of breathing. The findings of the study are to
be released in the November issue of the journal NeuroReport.
Instructions for the traditional insight meditation can be found at

B.C. mayoral candidate’s new platform: Give homeless crack.
Andrew Uitvlugt has an innovative way of dealing with the homeless.
In an interview he suggested crack could be used as an incentive to
motivate the homeless to clean up the city. As politically incorrect as
it may sound, this plan could actually work. Crackheads already rake
lawns, rebuild engines and perform other menial tasks for crack. Why not
put it to use for the city?
Patent No. 6,960,975 Anti-Gravity machine
Boris Volfson received a patent for his space vehicle designed to
counteract gravity. Do not get excited yet, Trekkies, it is more of a
theoretical patent that relies on unlimited energy. So while the device
could work, it would have to defy the laws of physics. On the upside,
now seems to be the time to get the patent for that perpetual motion
machine you scribbled on a napkin while drunk.
Bird Flu will kill you all!
China confirmed the first human death from bird flu. Two children
from Hunan died after contact with infected poultry in their village.
The flu variant H5N1 ran rampant in Asia over the last few weeks.
Scientist say their only concern is the strain mutating and causing an
epidemic.
Rent of the Week
Akira - Rated R - Director Katsuhiro
Otomo.
The film that began the anime craze, Akira is the story of
post-apocalyptic Japan populated by biker gangs, creepy little kids and
a big monster with tentacles. The animation is awesome, though I would
recommend the subtitled version, as the dubbed version has terrible
voice acting.
