Kristin Adams UAM’s Rodeo Team proved their abilities at the University of West Alabama rodeo Oct. 21-23 in Livingston, Ala.
Cody James took the calf roping by winning first in both go-rounds and the average. Laura Kennedy won second in long go-round, first in the short go-round and first in the average in the breakaway roping competition while Dilynn Dodd also showed in the top 10 in the breakaway roping competition. In the goat tying competition Jennifer Montgomery won first in the short go-round and second in the average. Sammy Hoyle won third in the long go-round, second in the short go-round and second in the average in the bull riding competition. Also, Brandi Waller placed in the top 10 in the team roping competition. “For the most part the team has had a pretty good year, but I look for next semester to be even better,” said Rodeo Team coach Jolyn Wells. “UAM should be proud; we have a great group of kids on the rodeo team.” The final rodeo for the fall semester will be held Nov. 18-20 at Murray State University in Murray, Ky. UAM will host its first intercollegiate rodeo March 31 and April 1-2 in Pine Bluff at Hestand Stadium.
