  • Escorted student with bloody arm, hand and leg from minor accident at Lake Monticello to school nurse
  • Helped husband of student look for wife regarding family emergency
  • Complaint re: band members taking faculty parking spaces
  • Received call from Monticello Chief of Police re: two students arrest on felony charges in town
  • Monitored students around bonfire; good turn out for the show
  • Traffic stop for wrong way on one way by Jeter Hall; issued verbal warning
  • Reminded estimated 45-50 students watching foot races in Bankston Hall parking lot of quiet hours
  • Traffic stop for speeding (47 in 35); issued verbal warning
  • Traffic stop for loud music; issued verbal warning

Oct. 29

  • Four traffic stops for speeding; issued campus citations
  • Conflict between two female students at University apartments
  • False fire alarm at Horsfall Hall
  • Issued citation to student parked in handicap space at Library with someone else's handicap placard; the violation can result in a fine of up to $500
  • Traffic stop for speeding
  • Responded to disturbance call at Apartments B
  • Responded to loud noise call at coach's residence
  • Two traffic stops at four-ways

Oct. 30

  • Patrolled campus during tailgating; large turnout, heavy traffic
  • Worked the football game; fantastic turnout and a great game to boot
  • Advised athletic trainer that injured football player discharged from UAMS and needed ride back to campus
  • Two traffic stops at four-ways
  • Made time changes to clocks in patrol cars

Oct. 31

  • Monitored supper run at cafeteria 
  • Three traffic stops
  • Unlocked Horsfall supply door for student to retrieve dropped calculator
  • Lent Monticello PD units a piece of equipment at Crackerbox South

Nov. 1

  • Found a goose in the intersection of University and Lakeshore drive next to the Field House that was apparently blind; contacted Game and Fish; told biologist would call when available
  • Issued 12 parking citations
  • Goose apparently got its eyes washed out in the rain and was making its way around the pond, eating
  • Stopped by MCB to serve papers, but individual not in class; called individual to advise we had papers to serve
  • Unit #33 not working; a very unreliable patrol car; time for a new one
  • Observed intramural basketball games in the University Center
  • Unlocked student vehicle at Jeter Hall

Nov. 2

  • Issued 24 parking citations
  • Traffic stop for having blue lights on moving vehicle; issued campus citation

Nov. 3

  • Three traffic stops for speeding; issued campus citations
  • Issued 21 parking citations
  • Report of subject heading toward campus who fled the hospital emergency room; subject entered woods; located some time later by Drew County Sheriff Department around Bowser Road
  • Unlocked student vehicle at the University Center
  • Assisted Game and Fish officer with DWI on Bowser Road; municipal citation issued
  • Issued four campus citations for various offenses

Nov. 4

  • Received call about possible fight at the field house; arrived, but found no disturbance
  • False fire alarm at Maxwell Hall
  • Traffic stop for running stop sign; verbal warning issued
  • Third-floor window broken out at Royer Hall
  • Front door's glass panel broken at Bankston Hall
  • Disturbance at Maxwell Hall, nothing found
  • Observed male subject leaning half way into first floor windo at Royer Hall, told him to leave
  • Five traffic stops for speeding; issued campus citations
  • Computer research for public safety issue
  • Worked game at the field house
  • Called to Bankston re: subject being ejected from UAM; student ordered to have personal belonging out by 1 p.m., but did not comply; items removed from room and put in storage on third floor to be picked up by the former student
  • False fire alarm at Royer Hall

Nov. 5

  • Observed vehicle parked in Jeter Hall South parking with beer in the back and a .22 caliber pistol sitting on the front seat; driver turned out to be non-student; initially impounded the weapon until owner located; owner advised that under NO CIRCUMSTANCES should a weapon be introduced to the campus; weapon returned upon his departure from the campus
  • Traffic stop for running stop sign and loud music; issued campus citations for both
  • Traffic stop for speeding; issued campus citation for excessive speeding
  • Traffic stop for speeding (47 in 25); issued municipal citation
  • Traffic stop of faculty member for speeding; issued campus citation

Nov. 6

  • Vehicle in Bankston parking lot with car alarm sounding; checked vehicle and everything ok
  • Assisted Monticello PD by unlocking a vehicle blocking departure of a hearse involved in a funeral at the Davis Funeral Home
  • Unit #33 transmission not shifting properly and had odor of overheated clutches
  • Received call re: wasps in the House Room; Alpha Sigma Tau sponsors requested help dealing with the wasps without using sprays due to food in the room; upon arrival, three red wasps flying around the room; killed wasps
  • Looked for a vehicle possibly on campus; the father of a student reported the unauthorized use of the vehicle to McGehee police who in turn reported it to campus police; vehicle found in Royer North parking lot; father contacted and came to campus to retrieve vehicle; he did not wish to file charges
  • Second complaint from Alpha Sigma Taus re: wasps; killed more wasps; wasps apparently entering room from a small nest above the light fixture near the door to the Green Room
  • Traffic stop for speeding on Scogin; issued campus citation
  • Traffic stop for running stop sign; issued campus citation
  • Traffic stop for headlight out on driver's side on Scogin
  • Call from resident at Married housing re: a lot of noise that woke him; upon arrival, found two cars in front with engines running; one car had three people inside and one had two people inside; female standing outside her apartment; cars left and she went inside without further incident

Nov. 7

  • Vehicle in Bankston parking lot with car alarm sounding; same vehicle as yesterday; checked vehicle and everything ok
  • Contacted by student, who was stowing his rifle and bow at Public Safety, to retrieve his weapons; informed him that he needed to find someplace off-campus to keep his weapons, as we will no longer provide that service due to lack of proper facilities
  • Three traffic stops
  • Traffic stop for running stop sign on Scogin; issued campus citation
  • Traffic stop for speeding on Scogin (35 in 20); issued campus citation
  • Call from library about loud noise outside in back
  • Traffic stop for driver side headlight out on Scogin; issued campus citation

Nov. 8

  • Issued nine campus citations for parking violations
  • Four traffic stops for speeding in school zone near Bankston Hall; issued campus citations
  • Traffic stop for speeding; issued campus citation

Nov. 9
  • Upset student at Campus Safety complaining that someone told him Campus Safety had searched inside his car for 30 minutes, then left a citation in the front seat of the vehicle for failure to pay registration, no insurance and an expired decal. Student provided description of vehicle that told him, which happened to be pulling out from Bankston; subject stopped, but denied saying anything; assured student that unless we had consent or probable cause to search his vehicle we would not do so; student apologized for his conduct and went on his way

  • Three traffic stops for speeding; issued campus citations
  • Traffic stop for failure to stop; issued campus citation
  • Issued six campus citations for parking violations
  • Three traffic stops for speeding
  • Heard possible rifle shots, possibly behind Bankston; received call from Dr. Lassiter about it; talked with Game and Fish officer who stated that they were having problems with night hunters before the opening weekend of deer season; appears the shots may have been fired off Bowser Road
  • Called to Bankston re: smoke coming from room; student contacted; did not smell or see any smoke

Nov. 10

  • A few traffic stops for speeding
  • Boot vehicle in front of MCB for numerous un-reconciled tickets
  • Boot resident vehicle at Harris Hall for parking in the no-parking zone and for numerous un-reconciled tickets
  • A few traffic stops
  • Unlocked vehicle in front of Harris Hall in the Flagpole circle
  • Two traffic stops for speeding
  • Call from parent concerned about son who has not been heard from since Nov. 2; filed missing persons report with Monticello PD
  • Traffic stop for speeding; issued campus citation
  • Traffic stop for speeding on Scogin; issued campus citation
  • When driving by Bankston Hall, heard a loud bang and saw smoke coming from west trash bin; looked inside bin and found 20 oz. Coke bottle melted with some foam around it on the ground; looks like some kind of chemical explosion; saw no one outside; parked by Public Safety Office to watch; another bang in the same place; inspected but saw nothing; conducted walk through dorm and found nothing; while inside, heard two more bangs but saw nothing; upon returning outside, found two more melted bottles for a total of four; plan to check exit door tapes for possible charges
