Pumpkin winners announced

   The UAM Student Ambassadors sponsored the second annual Pumpkin Decorating Contest. Winners included:

  • First Place — Alpha Sigma Tau
  • Second Place — UAM Cheerleaders
  • Third Place — Nurses Association
  • Honorable Mention — Alpha Sigma Alpha
   A panel of judges selected the winners based on creativity, neatness, originality, appearance and detail. According to Sherri Witcher, judging proved to be difficult this year.

   “It was evident all of the organizations put a lot of time and effort into creating their pumpkins,” Witcher said. “Choosing the best was not an easy task.”

   The pumpkins will be donated to the local children’s home for display through Halloween. Mary Whiting, director of admissions and sponsor of the student ambassadors, said she believes the organizations involved in this year’s contest did a great job.

   “I commend the organizations who participated in our contest this year,” Whiting said. “They were all very creative.”
